Unusual post, isn't it? Those coins have been waiting to be finished since last November. Designing them was a fun exercise!
I'm still sorting out the economy, and I'm not fully satisfied with their design yet—the black iron being my favourite and the steel bow the least liked. Concepts made on PS as usual, so were the textures and maps, 3D models made on Blender.
Those are the coins used in the city of Riful, where my novel The Names of Pan (goddamned working title!) takes place. This system is used in the majority if the continent, but the coin motifs may vary from city to city. Designs depicting historical and traditional mythical subjects are the most popular, perceived as atemporal, unlike coins made of the likeness of a current ruler. Rulers may become unpopular and rulers fall. Banks handling the money, on the other hand... (: The coins are roughly 3cm (~1 inch) wide.Tin Piece
The lowest value coin, so low it's rarely falsified, thus the random patterns. Commonly has a hole in the middle, making it possible to string the coins together. Nicknamed scales or links due the overlapping effect when strung.Black Iron
Rarely made of pure iron. Riful's coins depicts the two suns, a vital aspect of the life in Ilmaedrhas. 10 tin pieces make one black iron coin.Steel Bow
Earned its name in the past, when this coin was cast in folded steel. Some claimed the pattern of the steel resembled a bow. A coin is worth 6 black irons, or 60 tin pieces.Regis
The highest value coin, traditionally cast in silver. Riful's coin depicts a stylized holy tree. A legend claims that these trees were once people whom gave their lives to protect something or someone. A single regis is worth 4 steel bows, or 24 black irons, or whopping 240 tin pieces.

Essas são as moedas usadas na cidade de Riful, onde minha história Os Nomes de Pan (título temporário horroroso!) acontece. Esse sistema é usado na maior parte do continente, mas os temas das moedas podem variar de cidade para cidade. Designs com elementos históricos ou de mitos tradicionais são os mais populares, percebidos como atemporais, ao contrário de moedas com o rosto de governantes. Governantes podem se tornar pouco populares, e governantes são derrubados. Bancos que gerencial o dinheiro, por outro lado... (: As moedas têm aproximadamente 3cm (quase uma polegada).</span>
Moeda de Estanho (Tin Piece)
A moeda de mais baixo valor, tão baixo que raramente é falsificada, por isso os padrões aleatórios. Normalmente tem um buraco no centro, para que possa ser amarrada a outras moedas. São apelidadas de escamas ou elos, devido à aparência quando sobrepostas em um cordão.
Ferro Negro (Black Iron)
Raramente feita de ferro puro. As moedas de Riful mostram os dois sóis, um aspecto vital da vida em Ilmaedrhas. 10 moedas de estanho valem uma de ferro negro.
Arco de Aço (Steel Bow)
Conquistou tal nome no passado, quando era forjada em aço dobrado (damasco). Alguns diziam que os padrões do aço lembravam arcos. Uma moeda vale 6 de ferro, ou 60 de estanho.
Regis
A moeda de valor mais alto, tradicionalmente forjada em prata. A moeda de Riful mostra uma árvore sagrada estilizada. Uma lenda afirma que estas árvores já foram pessoas as quais abriram mão de suas vidas para proteger algo ou alguém. Uma única regis vale 4 arcos de aço, ou 24 moedas de ferro negro, ou ainda 240 de estanho.</blockquote>

I feel that the steel bow stands out too much from the others,
purely cause the others have nothing more than geometric shapes.
While the bow is an actual object. Makes it seem like it doesn't belong.
